Kodachroma

Kodachroma is a monumental relief sculpture by Rob Ley, currently on display at the Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. This expansive work, measuring 36 feet long by 15 feet high, employs two photographic images of the natural world to create a visually striking composition.

Ley’s innovative use of anodized titanium, a material typically associated with medical applications, introduces a vibrant palette of colors to the sculpture. This bold departure in materiality underscores the artist's commitment to exploring the intersection of art, science, and technology.

The illumination of this dynamic piece was carefully considered, prioritizing accurate color rendering and an even wash of light.
