Lake City Library

The Lake City Library built in 1965 has seen multiple renovations and expansions. Most recently, the spaces were reimagined and renovated by SHKS to better support the libraries expanding programs.  The lighting design plays an important role in defining these new spaces through putting vertical illumination on feature walls and careful selection of decorative fixture that bring character along with functional illumination.  The backlighting of the relocated cast glass panel art wall gives the artwork new life and making it a feature within the library. In the Historic Landmark designated reading room, 50 acrylic pyramid were retrofitted with a new layout of LED fixtures mounted within the existing pyramid housing, resulting in an 87% reduction of energy use.
